Redrum Collaboration

Farewell Tour

We will be touring heavily starting in March 2012 and going through September. After this epicly HUGE tour we are hanging up our hats, kicking off our boots, and raising our glasses to the end of Redrum’s tour life.

“Why?” you may ask… and the answer is very simple: We bought a brand new car in 2009 right before our tour lives began. That car now has well over 100,000 miles on it and we still have 2 years of payments to make! Poor little Hubert Von Voom is going to die before we even pay him off if we keep going the way we have been! Thus, this will most certainly be, our very last tour.

This is not to say we will not be practicing the art of photography… we just won’t be doing it via a car and endless driving. We will mostly be staying close to our home base of Philadelphia. We will still be available for hire out of state but flight, hotel and travel fare will be a required fee for the client to pay.

This all being said, we are visiting many cities for very short periods of time during the 2012 tour and shoot space will be extremely limited.

for rates and tour dates!

Anonymous asked: Your day rate is only 800 and your website says that is for as many as 8 look! Low rates like these are what is killing the photo industry and making everyone else have to work for less money.

Low for the industry, maybe - but our 8 hour day rate is actually high for the economy. Most people book smaller $300 packages, as is.

Our day rates are for model portfolio building or private sessions only. That $800 rate includes 4-8 looks, yes. We really don’t feel that this rate is “too low” when compared to other photographers offering shoots for under $200 that include hair and make-up in the cost and twice as many edits as we do. Maybe you should forward this question/statement to those photographers?

Yes, $800 is low when you consider that we travel for 85% of our shoots… often very long 10hr+ distances… and when you consider how much time, effort and love goes into our editing. Yes, $800 is low once you see the bottom line and realize we are actually working for slightly more than minimum wage.

But in comparison to what is out there now and what people are willing to pay due to the economy… our rate is actually on the high side. We simply can’t afford to charge any less to remain competitive in price and still be able to make ends meet.

That all being said, if we try to charge anymore for a full 8 hour day NO ONE would book us, ever.

We are just happy to be making art on a daily basis. If we could do it for free, we would! If we won the lottery we’d be shooting for ZERO DOLLARS and buying our models super fancy dinners and clothes to KEEP after the shoots! Imagine what THAT would do for the industry! You better hope we don’t win the lotto! ;)
